At 6:30 on August 10, 2017, the 45,512 freight train slowly departed from Guangzhou, heading all the way to Hanoi, Vietnam, marking the official opening of Guangzhou’s first railway freight train bound for Hanoi.

The China-Vietnam train is a land-based international train that connects China and ASEAN countries. It is an important part of the China-Europe train. Since the launch of the first China-Vietnam train in November 2017, 545 trains have been opened by September 2021, with an annual increase of more than 50%. In order to meet the demand for train operation, the Guangxi Railway Department continues to improve the equipment and facilities of the China-Vietnam railway intermodal transportation, strengthen the supporting capacity of the station, and communicate regularly with the same station in Vietnam, mutually predict the operation of the train, coordinate the implementation of the Vietnamese transportation capacity, and scientifically formulate the operation of the Sino-Vietnamese train.

According to reports, the China-Vietnam train has opened up a major land transport channel connecting the central and western regions to ASEAN via the core hubs of Nanning and Pingxiang. It has attracted the attention of many cross-border transportation companies. "Old" cross-border multimodal transport, Thailand imported fruits, China-Vietnam cold chain and other special trains have promoted economic and trade exchanges and win-win cooperation between Chinese enterprises and ASEAN countries.

The China-Laos Railway is known as the Treasure Travel Railway. It is picturesque along the way and has dozens of tourist attractions in Yunnan. It can be said that the China-Laos Railway is not only a road of "high value", but also a road of friendship and hope.

As of December 15, 2021, the China-Laos-Kunming-Wanzhou Railway has received a total of 31 cross-border freight trains, transporting 17,100 tons of import and export goods, with a value of about 107 million yuan. The imported goods mainly include natural rubber, fertilizer, Iron ore, etc. The main export goods are vegetables, fruits, steel, mechanical and electrical products, etc.
